Otto 32 Weighted Tuning Fork for Cranial-Sacral Pulse

As with the Otto 64 tuning fork, the Otto 32 Weighted Tuning Fork goes unsung. It is actually one of the most important tuning forks you could own. A few years ago I was working with some cranial-sacral practitioners. Cranial-Sacral bodywork is a non-invasive method for relieving tension and pain. It works with the body's rhythm or, cranial sacral pulse which is the movement of spinal fluid.

The person I was working with would measure the pulse before and after using the Otto 32 and what she found was immediate improvement of the pulse after only a few moments with this tuning fork. The only point I touched with this fork was at the bottom of the foot, K1 for you acupuncturists.

There are other uses for the Otto 32. Many people are using this tuning fork frequency for stimulating nerves on the skin and hair. While you can place the stem on the fork directly on the body

for this, generally you'll want to bring the tuning fork close to the skin without actually touching it. I remember the first time I tried this fork I felt nothing so I put it down for a few months. When I picked up again, I was amazed at how I could feel subtle vibration of this tuning fork on my skin.

Tapping the Otto 32

There is some confusion about how to tap the Otto 32. Unlike most weighted tuning forks, you do not tap the Otto 32 on the weights because this usually causes the weights to bang against each other. Instead, tap the Otto 32 about 1/3 from the top of the fork as in the picture below. You don't need to tap hard, just a firm tap against the heal of your hand should do it.
